Daniel from McAfee Hearing and Air came out today to perform our semi-annual inspection of our heating system. He was super thorough in his work, and went over everything with us once he was done with plenty of pictures of the internal pieces of our system. Their HVAC maintenance program has kept our systems running well.

Mike D was my technician. I assume he did ok with my winter maintenance, but not entirely sure. He said my filter did not need changing. That was the first time in the 6+ inspections I have had that the filter was not changed. Thanks.

I originally called to schedule a plumber to install a garage disposal. A HVAC tech called and said he was on his way. I had to explain I asked for a plumber. First plumber that arrived wasn’t sure how to install the model I had purchased. That is also the first time I learned the cost of the install at $625. Second tech (Roger) arrives the next day and did a great job. Since the quote was high, I called McAfee about using my monthly Comfort membership money to offset the unexpected high cost. I was told no and informed what it was for. That was not explained to me at the time of I signed up. Shame on me for not asking at that time and shame on McAfee for not telling me. Shame on me for not asking for a quote prior to scheduling an appointment and Shame on McAfee for not providing me one as well. I also learned that if I canceled my Comfort membership my cost to install one garage disposal was over $800. After calling McAfee they did work with me on a reasonable price. But I learned my lesson on dealing with McAfee in the future.

McAfee Tech/Sam showed up on time and had called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He is a plumber by trade and came to perform the yearly inspection on our 5-year-old water heater. Prior to doing that, however, he checked all interior faucets, under-cabinet plumbing, showers, toilets, and even the sink in our garage utility room--to ensure they were functioning properly with no leaks or other issues. He identified a couple potential/non-immediate problems for consideration: Replacing the old shutoff valves in one of our three bathrooms; replacing a corroded "sharkbite" fitting under the kitchen sink; and replacing a stiff "sharkbite" shutoff valve on the water heater. After the thorough in-house inspection he drained the water heater to inspect for signs of corrosion and debris. Fortunately, there were none. Sam was very friendly, efficient. thorough, and professional. I've already scheduled next year's water heater evaluation--as well as those for our furnace and AC system. These are complementary services as we are members of McAfee's Comfort Family--and well worth it. Highly recommend!
